Ingram Micro, a leading global technology distributor, and Evolis, a leader in plastic card personalisation systems, have confirmed a new distribution agreement.

Ingram Micro has started distributing Badgy card printers to its broad reseller network across EMEA. Badgy is an all-in-one solution allowing the end-user to create and print personalised plastic cards within a few minutes.

These turnkey solutions are aimed at the vast majority of Ingram Micro resellers, targeting its core customer base ranging from local authorities, schools, associations and retailers to SMEs.

Mark Cheetham, director DC/POS EMEA at Ingram Micro Europe, said: "This agreement will enrich and complement our offering with a very attractive card printer range, both in terms of design and price and, furthermore, brings new opportunities to over 100,000 Ingram customers across the region. Ingram Micro’s leading position in the IT distribution market is built on being able to offer our resellers the products and support that they are looking for.”

The plastic card printer Badgy is the entry level product of the France-based group Evolis. In 2017, Badgy has registered a 20% growth in the IT distribution market in the EMEA region. The solution targets small companies, institutions and associations and is sold with card design software Badge Studio, a card template library and a starter kit containing a colour ribbon and blank PVC cards. The partnership programme with Ingram Micro covers the two printer models: Badgy100 and Badgy200.

Olivier Chevance, EMEA sales manager for the Badgy range at Evolis, said: "Through this collaboration, more than 30 countries are targeted with this single marketing, logistic and financial interface. It offers huge growth opportunities in countries where Badgy still has weak coverage. I am confident that our combined sales synergy will boost sales of the Badgy business within the Ingram Micro reseller network and will contribute to the ambitious Evolis 2020 development strategy."
