Tech Data recognised for excellence in EMEA distribution

Tech Data today announced that it has been named Distributor of the Year in five regional categories in the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2017 Awards’. The awards were held in conjunction with the DISTREE EMEA event, which was held recently in Monaco.

Stephen Nolan, senior VP broadline, mobility, CE and services at Tech Data Europe, said: “The fact that these awards are decided on the votes of our channel partners is especially pleasing, as it demonstrates Tech Data’s strong relationships, excellence in execution and ability to drive growth through end-to end distribution services and solutions — which are the foundation of our business.”

Taking place for the ninth consecutive year, the awards were voted for by more than 1,000 retail, reseller and vendor executives from across EMEA, who were instructed to vote only in regions where they operate or have in-depth knowledge of the distribution landscape.

Liam McSherry, marketing director, DISTREE Events said: “This is the first time in nine years we have seen a distributor win in so many of EMEA’s major markets, so many congratulations to Tech Data. Voters were instructed to assess distributors on the overall quality of their business performance during the last 12 months and their skills as a distribution partner.

“We asked them not to simply pick the biggest distributor in each region, but to select the companies that had impressed them most during the last year with their operations and go-to-market approach,” he added.

Tech Data was the most voted consumer technology distributor in the following regional categories:

Tech Data Europe also placed third in the Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) Consumer Tech Distributor of the Year and the Northern Europe Consumer Tech Distributor of the Year categories.
